There is a new giveaway event getting ready to start.

The Twitter Marketing Giveaway…

I was invited to be part of this JV with a bunch of ebooks and software.

They say that they expect to get everyone involved about 5000 members in just a few days and possibly up to 10,000 new members.

Exposure will be great… it should have over 200,000 visitors.

The promoters… Bob Tompkins, Todd Gross & Reed Floren have allowed me to contact anyone that I believe would want to participate in this event…

I think you will really like what they are doing here and I knew you would want to hear about it and jump on board like I did ASAP.

To get the private invite details, just go here.

It starts on August 7, 2009.

We’ll talk later and God Bless…

How to Build a Portable Green Screen

from wikiHow –

For film makers, the green screen is a key component in being able to install special effects for a movie. For those of you looking to create your own film, the below instructions will tell you just what you need to do in order to build a portable green screen.

Steps

  1. Cut down two PVC pipes to whatever height you want the green screen to be.
  2. Cut each of these in half and put a pipe connector (coupler) in the middle of each. This will make the screen easier to transport.
  3. Cut another pipe into two equal lengths. These lengths should be about four to six-inches shorter than the width of the green cloth. For instance, if the width of the fabric is 60 inches, cut the pipe to 54 or 56.
  4. Cut the remaining pipe into four equal lengths. These will serve as the legs of the stand. Connect two of the four pieces with another pipe tee. Do the same with the other two. Put end caps on the ends of each of the pipes.
  5. Cut two six-inch sections from the scrap PVC pipe to act as spacers at the bottom of the frame. Attach the pieces to the pipe tees.
  6. Now you’re ready to assemble. You can glue the couplers to one section of the PVC pipe so that you don’t lose pieces during transportation.
    • Use the clamps to attach the green screen at the top and the sides of the frame.

Tips

  • This project will cost about $40.
  • When using the green screen, lighting is essential. If filming outside, overcast should be good. In a building or studio, the light must be even. It’s a good idea to use at least five lights: Two main lights, two fill lights, and one back light. A bunch of clamp lights or shop lights might suffice.
  • Make sure the screen is pulled tight. If there are any creases, the camera will pick them up. If you can see creases on the screen when looking through the camera, it has picked them up and blemishes will be seen.
  • Assuming you paid attention to the lighting, making the green disappear using editing software is not too difficult. The program’s filters will sometimes automatically detect a green screen. Crop the area until only the green screen is in view. Sometimes, using a background screen (such as a desert area) will help.

Things You’ll Need

  • Four 10 foot lengths of PVC pipe
  • Two 90 degree elbows
  • Four pipe tees
  • Four end caps
  • Six spring clamps
  • Two pipe section connectors (couplers)
  • Five yards of green fabric
  • Hand saw

Social media marketing… Does it work for business.

Social media marketing was studied in a recent article from ReadWriteWeb.com . They discussed the correlation between social media marketing and financial success. What was found is exactly why small business needs to be engaged in social media marketing.

The overall results were… yes it does help. The study showed that there was up to an 18% revenue growth and up to a 15% gross margin growth. This to me is not surprising but what did surprise me were the results shown in the businesses net margin growth.

It appears social media marketing is making them money but businesses are losing it everywhere else.

ReadWriteWeb.com has provided us with some great information and did answer the question many had. Is social media marketing worth the time involved for the small business. And.. that answer is yes. To view the entire story click here: http://joe-marsh.com/tb/socialmediamarketing

Recently I have had a few people ask me what I use to create videos for my products and other online needs. So I thought I would post a quick note.

As I am sure you know… video is where it is at. With video you can express opinions, create products, teach others, share information and the list goes on.

But the question I often get is what do you use to create your videos. Well… I use 2 program. Camtasia and Jing.

http://joemarsh.com/camtasia

http://joemarsh.com/jing

There are others but I like to keep things simple. With simple you have action and in the online world, action is what it is about.

So know that your still reading this… then I will guess that you probably have neither so let’s get going.

First Camtasia has all the bells and whistles you need, but is also easy to use. It is a paid product but it is well worth it. You can create videos as long as you like and you are only limited by the size of video you want to create.

Camtasia does have a free 30 day trial. So I would suggest downloading it and get started right away. You could have some videos created in an afternoon and start selling that same day. With the sales you create you can raise money to pay for your version before the trial runs out.

http://joemarsh.com/camtasia

I won’t go into great detail about the program because you can get all the facts at their site. But I will tell you that I use it almost everyday.

Now for Jing… Jing is a free program. It does not have the bells and whistles and is again simple to use. With Jing you are limited to a 5 minute video, unless you have their pro version which is paid.

http://joemarsh.com/jing

I use Camtasia for my most important videos. Videos that I am going to sell or put online on video sites.

I use Jing for quick explanation videos.

So take a look at both and see what will work for you. But… whatever you do get started right away doing something. Fast action creates success online and don’t think to much… it always messes things up.

Until next time…

Joe

If your looking for a quicker way to get Yahoo to index you try this…

-Register with Yahoo if you have not already.
-Go to http://my.yahoo.com and login
-Click on “my rss feeds”
-Click on “+ add content”
-Click on “add rss feed”
-Click on “add” and then “I’m done”

That’s it. This should get the Yahoo spider to your site quicker than the normal submission process.
